My career and personal mission have always been to keep seniors safe, supported and socially engaged while continuing to live in their communities. I am a strong advocate of developing and providing services that allow families to have quality options for care and support while their aging loved one continues to remain living at home and out of a facility.
In the last few months our countries long term care facilities have been devastated by the Coronavirus. Communal living arrangements within these facilities are poorly suited to control outbreaks of illnesses.
Many of the residents living at these facilities are vulnerable to the current deadly pandemic and other illnesses, such as the flu and pneumococcal infections. Older people are more likely to have chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which can make them more vulnerable during outbreaks as well.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for Adult Day services was at an all-time high. With more than 10,000 American’s turning 65 each day, the need for all community care is growing.
The Coronavirus has challenged caregivers and families on what is the right decision for long term care. Assisted living, memory care and nursing homes may be right and for some, but it shouldn’t be the only options they have for care.
Quality Adult Day Care offers families an affordable alternative to long-term care placement. Having the option of social-supportive care during the day allows caregivers to continue their personal lives while keeping their family together.
Our small group settings offer participants individual wellness attention, clean and controlled environments to enjoy and an escape from the negative effects of social isolation.
